SCG Foundation, led by Mr. Chaovalit Ekabut, Executive Director, and Ms. Suvimol Chivaluk, Director and Manager, together with The Nakhon Pathom Chamber of Commerce and Thai PBS Foundation, provides the first Modular Autopsy Unit in Thailand worth 5.17 million Baht to Nakhon Pathom Hospital. Dr. Dararat Rutanarugsa, M.D. and Director of Nakhonpathom Hospital,, and the hospital management team represented the hospital to receive the donation. This Modular Autopsy unit reduces the risk of COVID-19 infection and enhances the capability of autopsy in Nakhon Pathom and neighboring provinces for more than 700 cases per year. Moreover, it lowers work hours for medical school and expands the research related to COVID-19 and emerging diseases in the future.
The size of a Modular Autopsy Unit is 80.38 sq.m, which has a suitable and safe pressure-controlled system, including Positive Pressure Room to eliminate dust and germs and a Negative Pressure Room to limit and decrease virus transmission outside the building. The unit has divided into 4 parts as follows:
